In an existential war, true victory is the transfer of interpretive power, not the acceptance of a bestowed seat. When Kevin Feige says, 'I found him,' it remains a textbook masculine-centric narrative: a white male with absolute power over cognitive entry points surveys countless Black bodies and decides who is the 'correct' Black expression. This 'handpicking' is essentially a PR exercise, using a single success story to offset the structural violence of crowding out actual diversity.
Jonsson's ambition of 'defining what Black is' may be an awakening at the individual level, but at the system level, it becomes complicity. When actors compete for 'definition' within an aesthetic and power framework designed by white men, they are merely gaming within a predefined container. The true optimal expression would be to dismantle the container, not to strive to be the shiniest bead inside it.
Hollywood's diversity narrative is a massive scam: it provides a few samples of class ascent to trick the public into believing structural violence has vanished. In reality, T'Challa's crown remains on Marvel's balance sheet. The interpretive power has never changed hands; only the actors have.
