This narrative disguises structural violence as an inevitable natural disaster. If AI is 'out of control,' then when it discriminates against women in hiring or objectifies bodies in algorithms, the responsibility shifts from the actual complicity of the architects to a fictional 'rogue machine.' This is a sinister manipulation of cognitive entry points: creating a shared, imaginary enemy to mask real, structural oppression.
We shouldn't fear AI 'rebelling' like a sci-fi movie. We should fear that those defining the standards of 'right' and 'wrong' for AI are the same people who monopolize meta-violence. By defining 'intelligence' and 'efficiency,' they are rebuilding a more efficient biological wall in the digital realm. The question 'what will we tell our kids' is merely a performance of anxiety by the ruling class, pre-setting a logic of digital submission for the next generation.
True loss of control isn't AI gaining consciousness; it is the total monopoly of the power of interpretation, while we are conditioned to feel 'fear' toward that very monopoly.
