In this narrative, the monopolistic behavior of Google and others is erased, replaced by the image of a persecuted 'victim.' This is exactly how meta-violence operates: using a more blunt force (tariff threats) to overwrite a systemic attempt at justice.
Google's 'appreciation' of this intervention is profoundly ironic. A monopolist that profits by manipulating search results and stifling competition in Europe suddenly feels grateful when a powerhouse uses violent threats to protect it. This is pure complicity. Tech giants trade a portion of their political loyalty for the strongman's endorsement of their structural dominance. In this complicity, the 'American Taxpayer' serves as a cheap shield, while the actual winners are the capital giants controlling the cognitive entries.
Applying Galtung's Violence Triangle, the EU's Digital Markets Act seeks to reduce structural violence against the market. Trump, however, uses cultural violence—via the infantile 'PIGGYBANK' narrative—to stigmatize this effort, preparing to deliver direct violence through tariffs. This is an existential war over 'who defines the rules.' When power decides to replace legal discourse with tariffs, it declares that as long as you are strong enough, you can define 'justice,' and any rule that contradicts your interest is simply 'robbery.'
