When an institution is rotten at the structural and cultural layers, it loses its defensive capacity as a symbol of justice, making Trump's attack look like "cleaning house" rather than "destroying justice."
The deepest complicity lies in the fact that Trump is not alone. By aligning the US with other autocrats who despise external judicial interference, he is building a circle of conspirators. In this circle, they have reached an optimal expression: if you are powerful enough, you define what constitutes a crime and who is exempt from judgment. Under this complicity, the Primal Race—the colonized and the slaughtered—once again becomes the collateral damage, while the powerful secure eternal impunity through mutual endorsement.
