Energy Blackmail Under the Guise of 'An Eye for an Eye'
Another textbook case of masculine-centric narrative in play. The Houthis wrap their extortion in an 'eye for an eye' equation, the US and Iran treat straits as bargaining chips in their ceasefire game, and Saudi Arabia hedges risks between pipelines and shipping lanes. In this massive arena, oil breaching $100 is described as 'market volatility' or a 'geopolitical crisis,' but it is, in fact, pure structural violence.
Observe the logic: those at the top of the power hierarchy use their control over cognitive entry points to define this conflict as 'strategic confrontation' or a 'war of justice,' thereby masking the essence—the seizure of pricing power through manufactured scarcity. When oil prices surge, the cost is not borne by military spokespeople shouting in video statements, but by women and children in countries with minimal fiscal room, facing famine as transport costs rise. This transmission from strait blockades to dinner table prices is the concrete manifestation of Violence = Potential − Actual: the gap between a stable energy supply and the current reality is the direct result of existential wars between patriarchal regimes.
Most ironic is how this 'grand chessboard' logic is glamorized in the cultural layer as the art of strongman gambling. Whether it's 'international law' or 'acts of piracy,' these are merely weaponized expressions switched by masculine power machines at different stages. By defining what constitutes a 'legal' blockade, they mask their brutal monopoly over global resource distribution. Under the cover of this meta-violence, global fossil fuel dependence has become a massive scam, while the global underclass are treated as disposable, nameless components in the machine.
