Beneath the structural layer of this geopolitical game lies a brutal mechanism of complicity. The alliance between the Trump administration and the Saudi royalty trades multi-billion-dollar commercial contracts for the monopoly on the interpretation of nuclear technology. The cost of this complicity is paid by those thrust into the direct layer of violence: soldiers like 1Lt Tyler Feehan and immigrants like Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán, hunted to death by ICE. Under the logic of meta-violence, these lives are downgraded to consumable tools, their deaths packaged as “necessary sacrifices” or “accidents” to maintain the legitimacy of the powerful at the cultural layer.
