In the Clacton by-election, Farage uses the ballot box as a shroud for his private misconduct, attempting to overwrite the complex complicity between himself, businessmen, and fraudsters with a binary 'support/oppose' vote. This is another form of Meta Violence—using a narrative disguised as 'democracy' to erase the possibility of systemic auditing of privilege.
Farage's reference to a 'top international lawyer' is the textbook logic of the co-conspirator: as long as a legal interpretation can be constructed to justify the act, predatory or opaque interest exchanges can be rebranded as 'unconditional gifts.' In a masculine-centric power structure, this arbitrary manipulation of rules and monopoly over interpretation is the embodiment of Meta Violence. They do not care if the facts are true; they only care about manufacturing a 'truth' that serves their interests.
The irony of this game is that while mainstream parties maintain a facade of decency by boycotting the contest, Farage strengthens his presence by playing the 'victim' within his own echo chamber. In this field of complicity, the real casualty is the public's perception of political transparency. When 'breaking the rules' is rebranded as a badge of 'defying the system,' Just Expression is effectively dead.
