Economic stagnation, diplomatic friction, military spending—these "main challenges" are essentially gambles of resource redistribution within a closed circle of masculine power. These are not challenges to the system, but anxieties over how to maintain the structure and how to negotiate with another masculine power center, namely Trump.
Note the mention of Jonathan Powell, a key male node of influence in national security expected to remain. This is the essence of complicity: regardless of who performs the role of Prime Minister, the structural nodes controlling the power of interpretation and execution remain untouched. The arrival of a new PM is simply a narrative scam to provide the illusion of change, while the structural violence—the long-ignored deprivation of resources concerning existence and gender—is entirely absent from this "urgent list."
This weaponisation of expression in journalism, by reducing politics to the "art of managing challenges," successfully shifts public discourse from "who benefits and who is exploited" to the technicalities of "how to operate efficiently."
